Job Summary
The Product Specialist acts as local product technical expert for construction machinery product lines including excavators, wheel loaders and bulldozers. You will conduct market & working‑condition research, competitor technical analysis, sales & customer product enablement, and push localized product improvement to fit East‑African market demands.
Key Responsibilities
1. Conduct local market product planning and field working‑condition research for excavators, wheel loaders, bulldozers. Identify site operating conditions and mainstream competitor product layout in East‑Africa market.
2. Perform comprehensive competitor analysis, carry out comparison & performance testing between our products and competing units. Compare key configurations including engine, transmission, axle and hydraulic system; complete fuel consumption and working‑efficiency benchmark tests.
3. Deliver new‑product enablement training and market promotion. Master product specifications, configurations, highlights and matching conditions, conduct training for internal sales teams and end‑customers, support new‑product local launch & penetration.
4. Drive improvement for mature products in local market. Collect real‑world machine operation data and customer requirement feedback, propose solutions for localized product adaptation and optimization.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Machinery or related technical field
• Hands‑on working experience with construction heavy‑duty equipment (excavator / loader / bulldozer)
• Practical experience in market research, competitor technical benchmarking and field performance testing
• Capable of technical training, presentation and cross‑team communication
• English as working language; ready for frequent site travel across East‑Africa region
• Prior Africa market experience is a strong plus
