Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Biology Teacher role based at LEAD BRITISH INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL in Ibadan. The Biology Teacher will plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Biology lessons aligned with the school’s curriculum and academic standards. Responsibilities include assessing student learning, providing constructive feedback, maintaining accurate records of progress, and supporting students’ preparation for internal and external examinations. The role also involves creating a safe and inclusive classroom environment, collaborating with colleagues and school leadership, participating in staff meetings and professional development, and contributing to co-curricular activities that enhance learners’ scientific curiosity and critical thinking.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong teaching expertise, including experience as a Qualified Teacher with effective Teaching skills in a school setting.
- Candidates should possess subject-matter proficiency in Biology, with the ability to explain complex scientific concepts clearly and accurately.
- Candidates should possess effective Lesson Planning skills to design structured, engaging, and age-appropriate learning activities.
- Candidates should possess excellent Communication skills to interact positively with students, families, and colleagues.
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Science Education, or a closely related field; a teaching certification or license is highly desirable.
- Experience teaching within the British or blended British–Nigerian curriculum is an advantage.
- Ability to use educational technology to support instruction and assessment.
- Demonstrated commitment to safeguarding, learner welfare, and inclusive education.
