Position Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Part-Time Weekend Overnight Emergency Veterinarian to join our team. This person will help support our weekend overnight shifts and work approximately 3 weekend overnight shifts every 4 weeks. The ideal candidate will be passionate about providing high-quality veterinary care and possess excellent communication skills to build lasting relationships with our clients. You will work alongside a team of experienced veterinarians, technicians, and support staff and will work closely with the Hospital Manager and Regional Manager.
Salary: $80,000 – $150,000 for part time two days per week
Barton Heights Veterinary Hospital is offering a $50k bonus to a part time Overnight Emergency Veterinarian interested in joining our amazing team! Barton Heights Veterinary Hospital is an AAHA accredited, 24-hour hybrid practice located in Stroudsburg, PA offering general practice and emergency services. Barton Heights is located in Monroe County, Pennsylvania, which is in the heart of the beautiful Pocono Mountains.
This area allows for numerous outdoor activities in any season, including hiking, biking along the many trails, fishing and canoeing at the Delaware Water Gap, whitewater rafting, and snow skiing at one of the many mountain resorts. If you want to take a quick getaway to a larger city, Stroudsburg is less than a 2‑hour drive to Philadelphia and New York City.

Key Responsibilities
- Comprehensive patient exams and medical work‑ups
- Performing diagnostic procedures and surgery
- Pharmacy duties such as prescribing medications to patients and following controlled substance protocols
- Work with the Hospital Manager on weekly priorities and expectations
- Evaluate and monitor protocols for the daily running of the hospital from intake to discharge
- Monitor cases in the hospital and attend daily rounds when possible to be sure the highest standards are being upheld
- Participate in practice management updates and training at all levels
