Associate Jobs in Accra, Greater Accra Region, Ghana at DKB Partners

Title: Associate

Company: DKB Partners

Location: Accra, Greater Accra Region, Ghana

DKB Partners is seeking an ambitious and highly capable Junior Associate to support our work with global biotechnology, medical technology, and healthcare companies with a particular focus on the United States and Europe.

This is not a traditional public relations or marketing role.

Our firm works at the intersection of business, communications, healthcare, and finance, helping companies communicate their value to investors, analysts, journalists, potential partners, and other important stakeholders.

The Junior Associate will work closely with the firm’s founder across investor relations, corporate communications, media relations, business development, and client account management.

Investor relations is still an emerging field in Ghana, so prior experience in the industry is not required.

What matters most is intellectual curiosity, strong communication skills, commercial awareness, attention to detail, and a willingness to immerse yourself in a highly specialized field.

The successful candidate should be prepared to learn how healthcare companies raise capital, communicate clinical and business progress, engage investors, manage their public profiles, and position themselves within competitive global markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct research on biotechnology, medical technology, healthcare, and investment firms
  • Identify and research potential investors, journalists, analysts, partners, and other industry stakeholders
  • Support the preparation of investor outreach campaigns and meeting materials
  • Draft and edit emails, company profiles, press materials, social media content, briefing documents, and presentations
  • Monitor company, industry, competitor, and capital-markets developments
  • Maintain investor, media, and client databases
  • Assist with client meeting preparation, follow-up, and account coordination
  • Support business-development initiatives and the preparation of proposals
  • Help translate complex scientific and financial information into clear, compelling communications
  • Take ownership of administrative and organizational tasks that keep client programs moving forward
  • Have the aptitude to be a "Jack of All Trades".

Who We’re Looking For

You may be a strong fit for this role if you are:

  • An ambitious early-career professional who wants significant responsibility and exposure
  • A strong writer and communicator with excellent English-language skills
  • Interested in business, finance, healthcare, communications, or entrepreneurship
  • Curious about how companies raise money, attract investors, build credibility, and communicate their value
  • Highly organized, dependable, and attentive to detail
  • Comfortable conducting detailed research and learning unfamiliar subjects quickly
  • Able to manage multiple assignments and deadlines
  • Confident using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and online research tools
  • Willing to receive direct feedback and continuously improve
  • Comfortable working with international clients and accommodating U.S. and European business hours; please note this will not be a typical 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. (local time) job. Our clients are in different time zones

Education and Experience

  • Undergraduate degree required, preferably in business, finance, economics, communications, marketing, public relations, journalism, the sciences, or a related discipline
  • Recent MBA graduates and candidates with postgraduate business qualifications are also encouraged to apply
  • Previous experience in communications, consulting, financial services, healthcare, research, media, or professional services is beneficial but not required
  • A demonstrated record of strong writing, research, leadership, internships, or entrepreneurial activity will be highly valued

What You Will Gain

This role offers exposure to areas that are not commonly available in traditional entry-level positions in Ghana, including:

  • Global biotechnology and medical-technology markets
  • Investor relations and capital-markets communications
  • Fundraising and investor-engagement strategy
  • Corporate and financial communications
  • Media relations and executive positioning
  • International client management
  • Direct mentorship from the founder of a growing specialist advisory firm

The learning curve will be steep. The work requires initiative, discipline, discretion, and a genuine willingness to study unfamiliar companies, technologies, financial concepts, and healthcare markets.

In return, the right person will have the opportunity to become an important member of the firm, work directly with senior executives, and develop a highly differentiated professional skill set.
