Ocean Animal Hospital is a privately owned, state-of-the-art small animal hospital located just blocks from the beach in beautiful Cape Canaveral, Florida. Our 4,500 sq. ft. facility may be small, but it’s thoughtfully designed and equipped with cutting-edge technology,including digital radiography, ultrasound, photobiomodulation therapy, laparoscopy, in-house IDEXX lab, advanced dentistry, and a full surgical suite. We’re proud to offer high-quality, high-touch medical and surgical care with a deeply personal approach.
Owned and operated by Dr. Gabe Young, Ocean Animal Hospital is guided by a strong commitment to compassionate, top-tier veterinary medicine. A native Floridian, Dr. Young earned his veterinary degree in New Zealand and has practiced in diverse locations including Maui, Colorado, Australia, Bahrain, and Qatar. His love for surgery, challenging medical cases, and global volunteer work has shaped his hands-on, collaborative approach to veterinary care. When he’s not at the hospital, you’ll likely find him surfing, traveling, playing the drums, or spending time with his wife and two young children.
We’re now expanding our services to offer the only urgent care hours in the area, and we’re seeking a confident and passionate Associate Veterinarian to join us for our 4:30 PM – 11:30 PM shift. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys fast-paced medicine, thrives in a more independent setting, and is ready to help build something meaningful for our community. The right candidate will be comfortable handling a variety of urgent and emergency cases, including surgical procedures, and will be excited about offering pet owners in the area a much-needed alternative for after-hours care.
