We are seeking a compassionate and organized Veterinary Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for pet owners and will play a crucial role in ensuring a welcoming and efficient environment for both clients and their beloved animals. Duties
Greet clients and their pets upon arrival, providing a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.
Schedule appointments and manage the clinic’s calendar efficiently.
Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries regarding services, treatments, and estimates for procedures.
Maintain accurate patient records, including medical history and treatment plans.
Process payments and manage medical collections as necessary.
Assist veterinarian with patient intake, including gathering vital information about the animal’s health and behavior.
Ensure the reception area is clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies.
Educate clients about veterinary services, preventive care, and proper pet handling techniques.
Skills
The ideal candidate should possess the following skills:
Knowledge of veterinary terminology to facilitate effective communication with staff and clients.
Understanding of animal anatomy to assist in client education regarding pet health.
Experience with dog training or equine care is a plus.
Familiarity with veterinary critical care practices to support emergency situations.
Proficiency in animal restraint techniques for safe handling during examinations or treatments.
Strong background in pet care to provide guidance to owners
Capability in aseptic techniques to maintain cleanliness during procedures.
