Hours: Monday to Friday (7:30 AM – 7:00 PM), Saturday (8:00 AM – 1:00 PM), Closed on Sundays

Position Overview: As a Veterinarian at Chesapeake Veterinary Hospital, you will be responsible for providing medical, surgical, and preventive care to a diverse range of patients, including dogs, cats, birds, and exotics. You will work with advanced diagnostic tools, including digital X-rays and in-house laboratory services, and perform a variety of procedures, from routine check-ups to complex surgeries. Key Responsibilities:

Provide routine wellness exams, vaccinations, and preventive care to small animals, birds, and exotics.
Diagnose and treat a wide range of medical conditions, both common and complex.
Perform surgeries, including laser surgery, and dental procedures with a focus on high-quality care.
Utilize diagnostic tools such as digital X-ray and in-house lab services for accurate diagnoses.
Provide emergency care and after-hours support for established clients as needed.
Communicate effectively with pet owners, explaining diagnoses, treatment options, and preventative care plans.
Collaborate with the veterinary team to ensure comprehensive, high-quality care for all patients.
Maintain accurate medical records and follow proper documentation protocols.

Qualifications:

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent from an accredited veterinary school.
Valid Maryland state veterinary license or the ability to obtain one.
Strong diagnostic, surgical, and clinical skills.
Compassionate, patient, and effective communicator with both pets and owners.
Experience in performing routine and advanced surgeries and dental care.
Ability to manage emergency situations and provide care under pressure.
Ability to work as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment.
Experience with exotic animals and birds is a plus, but not required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $120,402.00 – $131,067.00 per year
