Job Summary

Veterinarian position at Vetco Total Care Full‑Service Veterinary Hospitals. Responsible for clinical care, surgeries, diagnostics, patient management, staff collaboration, and maintaining a patient‑centered environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent patient care through physical examinations, diagnosis, treatment, and preventive care.
  • Develop a problem‑based assessment, differential diagnoses, diagnostic plan, and treatment plan for each patient.
  • Perform routine and complex surgical procedures, including spays/neuters, abdominal explorations, and mass removals.
  • Perform routine and complex dental procedures, including full dental examinations, radiograph evaluation, extractions, and oral surgical procedures.
  • Develop treatment plans for day hospitalization and transition patients to overnight care as needed, communicating effectively with referral hospitals.
  • Participate in rounds as incoming or exiting doctor at the beginning and end of shifts.
  • Disseminate knowledge throughout staff to improve care and communication provided to patients and clients.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an AVMA‑accredited veterinary school.
  • Active veterinarian license in the state of the hospital (or ability to obtain within start date).
  • Current DEA license and, if applicable, Controlled Substance License in the operating state.
  • USDA Category I accreditation or completion within two months of hire.
  • Experience performing anesthesia and routine surgeries (canine/feline spays, neuters, mass removals, dentals).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Compassionate and professional demeanor during emotional and stressful situations.
  • Telephone and computer proficiency.
  • Team player willing to learn new techniques, offer ideas, and accept change.

Work Environment

Work is conducted in the Vetco Total Care hospital. Duties include bending, kneeling, lifting up to 30 pounds, and standing for long periods. Direct contact with clients and pets is frequent.

Benefits
