Midtown Veterinary Hospital in Palo Alto, CA is seeking an experienced veterinarian for our Area Medical Director position. This collaborative role will work alongside our existing hospital Medical Directors to support clinical excellence and consistent care standards across our growing network.
About The Role at Midtown Veterinary Hospital:
Supportive Leadership Approach: Partner with our established Medical Directors to enhance medical operations
Clinical Excellence Facilitator: Help coordinate and share best practices between hospital locations
Team-Building Focus: Foster communication and collaboration between our clinical teams
Medical Program Development: Assist in developing and refining medical protocols that respect each hospital’s unique needs
Growth and Development: Support our existing leadership while helping build our expanding network

What We Offer:
Competitive Compensation: $180,000 – $250,000 per year

Core Responsibilities:
Support consistent quality standards while respecting each hospital’s individual culture
Collaborate with existing Medical Directors to enhance medical protocols
Assist with recruitment and development of new Associate DVMs
Facilitate knowledge sharing and resource optimization between hospital teams
Support clinical excellence through collaborative quality improvement initiatives
Provide mentorship and guidance when requested by clinical team members
Work with regional leadership on strategic initiatives and growth opportunities
Represent our hospital group at industry events when appropriate
Ideal Candidate:
Licensed veterinarian in California with 5+ years of clinical experience
Previous Medical Director or leadership experience
Strong collaboration and relationship-building skills
Excellent communication and mentoring abilities
Ability to balance standardization with respect for established practices
Strategic thinker with a team-oriented approach
Willingness to travel between hospital locations as needed
