Administrative and technical work involving the inspection and oversight of County parks/trails contracts, other County facilities/properties, and projects.
Performs skilled technical work involving the care, maintenance, and management of trees and plant life in County parks, trails, and other public spaces. This role includes field inspections, tree assessments, and oversight of arboricultural tasks to ensure the health, safety, and aesthetics of the County’s natural landscapes.
** Salary will be determined based on candidate qualifications exceeding the minimum requirements as outlined in the job description.

Conducts field inspections to oversee maintenance and operations of County parks, trails, and facilities.
Assesses trees, shrubs, and vegetation across County parks to ensure proper care and maintenance.
Analyzes and interprets engineering landscape drawings and resolves issues related to turf and landscape materials.
Oversees pruning, planting, fertilization, and pest control to maintain healthy trees.
Diagnoses tree health issues and applies treatments for diseases, pests, and hazards.
Interprets arboricultural reports and assessments to adhere to best practices.
Ensures all arboricultural work complies with safety, environmental, and County standards.
Maintains detailed records of work, including health monitoring and treatments.
Collaborates with departments to implement tree care and capital projects.
Handles customer inquiries and complaints regarding landscape and tree care.
Manages budgets related to arboricultural and maintenance projects.
Schedules, inspects, and documents contractor work, reviewing contract compliance and performance.
Assists in contract claim analysis and verifies contractor payments in line with budgets.
Follows procedures for purchasing and invoicing through automated systems.
Resolves service requests to ensure customer satisfaction.
Manages operational budgets, including records, billing, and purchase orders.
Performs additional duties as assigned.
Additional Duties
:
In emergencies, all employees are considered essential and may perform alternate duties.
Qualifications include an associate’s degree, five years of landscape maintenance experience, and two years of supervisory experience.
Requires ISA Certified Arborist or equivalent certification; may need a Chemical Applicator’s License from Florida.
Equivalent education, training, or experience may substitute minimum requirements.
Must hold and maintain a valid Florida Driver’s license.
Knowledge of tree biology, pest management, plant diseases, and arboricultural practices.
Knowledge of landscape management, design, plant materials, and turf care.
Ability to interpret blueprints, reports, and management plans.
Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate arboricultural tasks.
Effective communication skills, both oral and written, with computer proficiency.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with contractors, staff, and supervisors.
