Role Description The Animal Nutrition Specialist will work on-site in Abuja in a full-time capacity, supporting the design and implementation of nutrition plans for a variety of livestock species. Daily responsibilities include assessing animal dietary needs, formulating balanced rations, and monitoring the effectiveness of nutrition programs in collaboration with veterinary and farm management teams. The role involves providing nutrition education to farmers , preparing technical reports, and contributing to the development of animal health management programs that integrate animal nutrition and preventive care. The specialist will also advise on feed additive products relevant to livestock nutrition, support product selection for farmers , and maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated expertise in Animal Feed Formulation and Nutrition, with the ability to design and evaluate animal feeding programs.
- Strong skills in Animal Nutrition and Communication to effectively train and advise clients and internal teams.
- Understanding of Feed Additives and their relevance to livestock feed, supplementation, and overall animal health.
- Relevant academic background such as a degree in Animal Science, Veterinary Medicine, Nutrition, or a closely related field.
- Experience working with livestock operations, feed mills, veterinary practices, or agricultural enterprises is highly beneficial.
- Ability to analyze data, prepare clear technical documentation, and use basic digital tools for record-keeping and reporting.
- Capacity to work collaboratively on-site in Abuja and remotely, manage multiple projects, and adapt to changing client needs.
