Animal Fodder Double Press Facility Operations Manager — Ain Sokhna Jobs in Ain Sokhna, As Suways, Egypt at PlatFarm

Title: Animal Fodder Double Press Facility Operations Manager — Ain Sokhna

Company: PlatFarm

Location: Ain Sokhna, As Suways, Egypt

Company: Platfarm — alfalfa processing & export, Ain Sokhna

Schedule: 25 days on-site / 5 days off per month. Residence inside the facility is mandatory during the 25 working days — on-site accommodation provided.

Reports to: Managing Director

The Role

Full operational ownership of the Sokhna facility — from truck gate to loaded container:

  • Receiving: Manage raw material intake, weighbridge, and quality acceptance with authority to reject non-conforming loads
  • Quality: Own QC across intake, in-process, and finished bales (moisture, density, contamination) to export spec
  • Production: Plan and run daily double-press operations against the export schedule
  • Maintenance: Own preventive maintenance, periodic checks, breakdown response, and spare parts planning for all machinery (press line, hydraulics, loaders, forklifts, generators)
  • Inventory: Manage all stock — raw material, finished bales, consumables, spares — with accurate ERP records and lot traceability
  • Export shipments: Plan and execute container stuffing, loading, VGM compliance, and shipping documentation; follow up daily with customs clearance and trucking agents to keep containers moving through DP World Sokhna on schedule
  • Staff: Manage all site staff — rosters, shifts, discipline, seasonal labor — and maintain a deputy to cover off-rotation days
  • SOPs & systems: Implement and enforce SOPs across all operations (receiving, QC, production, maintenance, loading) and run the facility through the Platfarm digital ERP — all transactions, quality records, and reports live in the system, not on paper
  • Site: HSE, security, and compliance

Requirements

  • Proven experience operating an agricultural produce packhouse or alfalfa/fodder farm at scale — mandatory, no exceptions
  • Strong leadership and discipline — a firm, commanding personality able to run a demanding site, enforce standards without compromise, and hold the workforce accountable while earning their respect
  • Strong technical background in machinery and equipment — deep hands-on knowledge of hydraulics, diesel engines, balers/presses, loaders, and generators; able to diagnose faults, lead repairs, and challenge the maintenance team technically
  • Proven ability to implement SOPs and manage operations through a digital ERP (Odoo or similar) — comfortable enforcing system discipline with the workforce; paper-only managers will not fit
  • 7–10 years operations experience covering the full receiving-to-dispatch chain
  • Export operations experience — container loading, customs clearance coordination, port documentation
  • Supervised 20+ workers including seasonal labor; daily floor presence
  • Must reside inside the facility during the 25 working days — prior remote-site/camp living experience preferred
  • Arabic native, functional English; comfortable with digital reporting

Preferred: Mechanical/agricultural engineering degree
