We are seeking an experienced Animal Caretaker to join our team in Atlantic, PA. As an Animal Caretaker, you will be responsible for ensuring the well-being and health of our animals. You will be expected to provide daily care, including feeding, watering, and cleaning of animal enclosures. Additionally, you will be responsible for monitoring animal behavior and reporting any concerns to the appropriate supervisor. Your role will be critical in maintaining a safe and healthy environment for our animals.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Experience working with animals in a professional setting
Knowledge of animal behavior and husbandry practices
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science or related field
Certification in Animal Care or related field
Experience with trimming animal hooves and/or beaks
Knowledge of water quality and filtration systems
Experience with exotic or large animals
Responsibilities:
Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, watering, and cleaning of enclosures
Monitor animal behavior and report any concerns to the appropriate supervisor
Maintain a clean and safe environment for animals and staff
Assist with animal handling and husbandry tasks as needed
Complete tasks effectively and efficiently while following directions
Skills:
As an Animal Caretaker, you will utilize your skills in animal handling, animal husbandry, trimming, and animal behavior on a daily basis. You will also need to be able to complete tasks effectively and efficiently while following directions. Additionally, excellent communication and interpersonal skills will be necessary to work effectively with other staff members and ensure the well-being of our animals.
