Animal Caregiver / Technician Assistant (Dual role opportunity)
Oakwood Hills Animal Hospital : Compassionate. Dedicated. Excellent. Progressive.
Come work for a private practice with an established history in the Chippewa Valley community that will offer you the chance to use what you have learned and help you get to the next level!
Oakwood Hills Animal Hospital is a privately-owned AAHA accredited practice seeking an Animal Caregiver/Technician Assistant to work with their team of 10 doctors.
Serving the community since 1979, Oakwood Hills Animal Hospital offers services ranging from Wellness Exams with vaccinations to Urgent Care and Emergency Services. We are a team that values work-life balance, a positive working environment, and opportunities to learn and grow. We are looking for someone who will work well with our team and enjoy a challenge.
An ideal candidate would be a dedicated individual who is hardworking and who works well both as a team and individually. This is an entry-level position with room and opportunity to learn and grow; a great opportunity for someone interested in the veterinary field. This unique opportunity allows for an individual to learn the basics of veterinary medicine in the role of an Animal Caregiver (ACG). The ACG is relied upon to assist with patient care and basic husbandry requirements. The ACG is also largely responsible for housekeeping, maintenance, and the sterilization of surgical tools. Once the individual has completed the pertinent ACG training, they will begin training as a Technician Assistant (TA). The TA is often heavily depended upon by both the Credentialed Veterinary Technicians and the Veterinarians. The TA assists with animal restraint (aid in obtaining labs, exams, and other tasks), performing lab work, assisting with radiographs, patient care, filling prescriptions, and more.
Candidates must be reliable, motivated, and possess a desire to provide a high standard of care. The position requires the ability to learn new skills with good attention to detail. This is a physical position, which requires multi-tasking, and the ability to work in a busy environment. Good client service skills are also necessary.
