Position: Full-Time Animal Care Technician Role
Join the Cumming School of Medicine as a full-time Animal Care Technician, supporting research animal welfare while utilizing your animal health diploma. Engage in vital technical support and ensure adherence to care guidelines in a busy environment.

This limited-term role lasts approximately 24 months within the Animal Resource Centre. As an Animal Care Technician, you will provide essential animal care services, engage with researchers, and manage animal health protocols. The position requires flexibility to handle peak periods and critical situations, maintaining confidentiality at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide technical support and animal care services

• Coach researchers and lab personnel effectively

• Monitor and report animal health problems

• Administer treatments and medications as needed

• Maintain detailed records in the MOSAIC system

Requirements:

• Animal Health Diploma required

• Relevant experience with research animals preferred

• Proficient in using MOSAIC and other equipment

• Knowledge of CCAC guidelines and university policies

• Participation in the CALAS training program
