Piper Companies is seeking an Animal Care Technician in Philadelphia, PA to work for a leading academic institution in Philadelphia.
Responsibilities for the Animal Care Technicianinclude:
Perform daily Animal husbandry duties such as health check, cage changing, and waste disposal
Manage laboratory sanitation and environmental conditions such as humidity and temperature
Assist in basic veterinary care for animals housed within the vivarium
Oversee vivarium supplies and resources
Provide support to rodent breeding colonies
Maintain logs and research documentation in accordance with company standards
Qualifications for the Animal Care Technician
include:
Minimum of 1 year of animal husbandry
Technical experience with animal breeding, tissue sampling, harvesting, collection, and rodent mouse models
HS Diploma or BS in biology related field required
American Association of Laboratory Animal Sciences certification at the ALAT level preferred
Compensation for the Animal Care Technician
include:
Salary Range is $20.00-$22.00/hr
Comprehensive Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, Sick Leave if required by law
