Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Animal Care Technician to join our team, Full Time. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care for dogs and cats in a boarding kennel setting. This position requires a strong understanding of animal behavior as well as sometime who is energetic, responsible, hard working, and has a passion for animals. Duties include, but are not limited to interacting with clients and their pets, cleaning, feeding, medicating pets, bathing, laundry and telephone calls with clientele.
Experienced preferred but willing to train the right person.
Duties
– Provide daily care for animals, including sanitizing kennels daily, feeding, medicating when required, grooming, and exercising.
– Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kennel area and prep rooms.
– Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to management, who is very hands on and will be working closely with you.
– Provide excellent customer service to pet owners over the phone while booking reservations and in person while checking their pets in for their vacation. -Wash laundry and clean reception area daily. ​
Qualifications
– Previous experience is preferred but not absolutely required.
– Knowledge of animal care practices, including proper handling techniques us helpful.
– Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
– A passion for animal welfare and commitment to providing excellent care. -Must be available to work during holiday periods and peak travel times such as July and August. These are our peak boarding times and our busiest. This will be discussed in detail during an interview.
Most of all, you must love working with animals as well as people and enjoy working in a fast-paced, fun environment while also having a great sense of humor! Weekend availability is a must as we are very busy over the weekend!! If dogs are your passion I encourage you to apply!
