Do you have a passion for animal welfare and experience working with a wide range of species in a practical setting?
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Technician in Animal Studies to support the effective day-to-day operation of our Animal Studies Unit at Stamford College. This role plays a vital part in maintaining the highest standards of animal welfare while supporting teaching staff and students within a busy and varied learning environment.
The Animal Care Technician will work 21 hours per week, during term time on a permanent contract. We would like our technician to cover one Saturday in four weeks (which means a day off in the week).
Working closely with the Animal Unit Co-ordinator, you will be responsible for routine and specialist animal husbandry, maintaining clean and safe environments, supporting student practical activities, and ensuring full compliance with health, safety and animal welfare legislation. You will also contribute to record keeping, stock control, minor maintenance and play a key role in supporting students undertaking practical work and work experience within the unit.
This is a hands-on role requiring flexibility, attention to detail, and a genuine commitment to animal care and education.
