We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and the ability to provide a safe and nurturing environment for pets. As a Kennel Technician, you will be responsible for the daily care of animals, ensuring their well-being, and assisting with various tasks related to their health and comfort. This role is essential in maintaining a clean and organized facility while providing excellent customer service to pet owners.
Responsibilities
Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising pets.
Clean and maintain kennel areas, ensuring a hygienic environment for all animals.
Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff.
Assist with administering medications as directed by veterinary professionals.
Support pet owners by answering questions and providing information about services.
Maintain accurate records of animal care and health status.
Ensure safety protocols are followed during animal handling and interactions.
Assist in training new staff members on proper animal care techniques.
Experience
Previous experience in pet grooming, veterinary assistance, or animal care is preferred.
Familiarity with kennel operations or veterinary environments is a plus.
Strong skills in animal handling, particularly with dogs and other domestic pets.
A background in pet sitting or working as a veterinary technician can enhance your application.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment are essential.
A genuine love for animals and commitment to their welfare is required.
