Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Cat Specialist to provide exceptional care for cats in the shelter environment. The ideal candidate will have a genuine love for animals and the ability to handle cats, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being. This role is perfect for individuals with assistance who are looking to make a positive impact in the lives of shelter cats.
Duties
Provide daily care for cats including:
feeding, cleaning rooms, cleaning ears, trimming nails.
administering medication, microchipping, vaccinations.
monitoring and spotting new and continued health issues.
Maintain accurate files for meds and care of cats
Engage with cats through playtime and exercise to promote their physical and mental well-being.
Requirements
Previous experience in animal handling or pet care is preferred; experience as a veterinary assistant is a plus.
Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary (e.g., lifting Litter and food bags)
Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with the Director and General Manager
A genuine passion for animals and commitment to providing high-quality care.
Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends or holidays if required.
Must be reliable, punctual, and able to manage time efficiently while caring for multiple cats.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $15.00 – $16.00 per hour
