Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Animal Caretaker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for animal welfare and the ability to provide high-quality care for a variety of animals. This role involves working closely with animals in a kennel or veterinary setting, ensuring their health, safety, and comfort while assisting with daily care routines.
Responsibilities
Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising.
Monitor animal behavior and health, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff.
Assist in administering medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians.
Maintain cleanliness of animal living spaces, including kennels and play areas.
Handle animals safely and effectively during routine procedures such as examinations or grooming.
Support veterinary staff with tasks related to animal restraint and catheterization when necessary.
Keep accurate records of animal care activities and health observations.
Educate pet owners on proper animal care practices and behavior management.
Experience
Previous experience as a Veterinary Assistant or in a laboratory setting is a plus.
Knowledge of animal physiology, anatomy, and veterinary terminology is a plus.
Skills in dog and cat handling are advantageous.
Familiarity with animal restraint techniques is a plus.
Experience working in a kennel environment is beneficial but not mandatory.
