Salary: $15.14 – $17.04

Description:

Provides care of research animals according to established procedures.

Learns and applies federal, state, and local regulations, guidelines, and policies on laboratory animals.

May assist with minor veterinary procedures.

Maintains animal housing in assigned areas, including sanitizing, disinfecting, cleaning, and changing cages.

Provides feed and water to animals according to schedules and quantity requirements.

Monitors animal’s health condition, reporting illness, injury, or unusual behavior to management.

Processes incoming animals according to procedures for each species.

Handles and restrains common laboratory animals as required.

Performs routine functional checks and daily maintenance on machinery operating in assigned area(s).

Assists in other minor technical research support as trained.

Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Education:
Requires a basic knowledge of grammar, spelling, punctuation, and simple mathematical functions like percentages, ratios, etc., as might normally be acquired through attainment of a high school diploma or GED.

Experience:
No experience is required.
