The ACCT is responsible for the care of animals in the shelter, ensuring that animals are fed and exercised daily as instructed. They provide friendly customer service while assisting with pet adoptions, animal intakes, and other client services. The ACCT also performs basic office administration and cleaning. They play an important role on a hard-working team that is dedicated to upholding the mission of the Bucks County SPCA.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Handle animals properly, humanely, and with compassion
Ensure animals are fed, groomed, and exercised daily according to shelter procedures and veterinarian’s instructions
Document food and water intake and excretions, notifying Shelter Management and veterinarians about abnormalities according to shelter procedures
Stock supplies for exam rooms, treatment rooms, or food storage
Clean and sanitize animal areas daily, including vacuuming and mopping floors, cleaning surfaces, laundry, and cleaning bowls and litter pans
Provide excellent customer service through courteous, prompt, helpful service to shelter visitors, volunteers, and staff
Understand and articulate Bucks County SPCA policies in a positive and effective manner
Assist with pet adoptions, animal intake, and other client services
Provide basic office support such as answering and directing phone calls, filing, and data entry
Maintain equipment and bring to attention of management equipment that needs repair
Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Valid driver’s license and a good driving record
Experience with animal care preferred
Mid-level computer skills and use of standard office equipment
Ability to take direction and work positively in a team environment
Physical requirements include ability to talk, hear, and see, as well as sit, stand, walk, regularly lift and move up to 60 lbs.
The schedule includes Sunday 9am-3pm and Monday 9am-6pm. A driver’s license is required.

Pay: $15.50 per hour
