Position: Adopt-A-Park Sponsors for Polk County Conservation
Spend some quality time outside with your group or organization beautifying a park, wildlife area, or trail. As an Adopt-A-Park sponsor, your group will help the Polk County Conservation Board manage its more than 18,000 acres of public land. We are always in need of volunteers, especially teams of volunteers, willing to give their time to improve our parks through:
Trash removal
Painting
Seed collection
Plantings
Woodland and prairie restoration
Trail maintenance
With the Adopt-A-Park program, your group can pick its favorite park or trail, so choose one near your business, church, or school and help keep Polk County beautiful. Volunteer groups are required to sign up for a one-year commitment. Responsibilities vary based on age, interest, and need, and we’ll do our best to find the opportunity that best matches the volunteer.
Training will be provided as needed on the job.
Minimum Age Requirement: Volunteers should be between the ages of 18 and 100.
