Responsibilities

You will perform a variety of technical and specialized professional and administrative duties for the South Carolina Boards of Dentistry and Veterinary Medical Examiners.
You will serve as an administrative team leave processing a variety of initial, reinstatement, renewal, and registration applications for the Dentistry Board, utilizing applicable databases and software.
You will respond to customer inquiries received through walk-ins, telephone calls, e-mails, and other methods providing timely and accurate responses to the assigned boards application and licensing requirements and processes.
You will provide administrative duties of communicating examination scores, processing license verification requests, processing jurisprudence exams, assisting with notices of appearance and final order hearings, logging and tracking disciplinary compliance issues, and reporting actions to the Board and external stakeholders.
You will perform a variety of other administrative and technical duties such as preparing correspondence and reports, assisting with Board meetings, processing travel vouchers, FOIA requests, assisting with audits, assisting with form revisions, and weekly reviewing and updating the Dentistry Board’s website.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

A high school diploma and work experience that is directly related to the area of employment. A bachelor’s degree may be substituted for the related work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

A high school diploma and four (4) years of experience that is directly related to the area of employment.
Strong customer service skills and experience performing administrative functions.
Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, policies, and organizational functions of the applicable boards.
Considerable data entry and research skills.
Considerable knowledge and skill in the use of office equipment, computers, and computer software programs.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Ability to effectively plan and organize work activities and prioritize tasks.
Ability to exercise judgment and discretion in interpreting and applying policies and procedures.

Other Requirements

Position works in an office environment with extended periods of sitting and standing.
May require occasional work outside of normal office hours.
May be required to lift, carry, move and/or position objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
Daily filing, data entry, telephone and computer use.
