About COLEAD & the Programme

COLEAD is a non-profit interprofessional association founded in 1973 whose main purpose is to facilitate and implement actions that increase the contribution of the agri-food sector to achieving the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

COLEAD manages development projects in the agricultural and food sector in low and low-middle income countries, mainly financed by the European Union.

As part of the launch of the SPRING Programme in The Gambia, COLEAD is recruiting an Administration & Finance Officer.

The Role

Based in Banjul, the Administration & Finance Officer will provide administrative, financial and operational support to the programme team, ensuring compliance with COLEAD procedures, donor requirements and applicable regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative, financial and logistical support to programme activities and office operations
  • Process invoices, payments and supporting documentation while ensuring compliance with internal procedures and donor requirements
  • Support budget monitoring, financial reporting and expenditure tracking
  • Coordinate procurement processes, supplier management and contract administration
  • Maintain accurate administrative, financial and procurement records
  • Support audits, donor reporting and compliance requirements
  • Manage and update administrative and financial databases and reporting systems
  • Contribute to process improvements and the efficient functioning of the Banjul office

Profile

  • Degree or diploma in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Management or a related field
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in administration, finance, accounting, procurement, audit or operations
  • Experience with NGOs, donor-funded programmes or international organisations is an asset
  • Excellent English communication skills; French is an advantage
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel; experience with ERP or accounting systems is an asset
  • Strong organisational, analytical and communication skills
  • High level of integrity, attention to detail, reliability and ability to work independently
  • Knowledge of European Union grant management and procurement procedures is an asset

📍 Full-time position based in Banjul, The Gambia

📄 Independent consultancy agreement for an initial period of one year, with the possibility of renewal
