Role Description The Accountant role at Puratos is a full-time, on-site position based in Addis Ababa. The Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, including general ledger entries, accounts payable and receivable, and bank reconciliations. The role involves preparing financial reports, supporting month-end and year-end closing processes, and ensuring compliance with local accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal policies. The Accountant will monitor budgets, assist with cost analysis, and provide financial data to support business decision-making. The role also includes collaborating with internal teams, liaising with external auditors and tax authorities as needed, and contributing to continuous improvement of financial processes and controls.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, general ledger management, and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in budgeting, cost analysis, and financial data interpretation to support business decisions.
- Experience with accounting software and ERP systems, as well as solid MS Excel skills.
- Understanding of local tax regulations, compliance requirements, and audit processes.
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy in data entry, and strong organizational skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certification (e.g., ACCA, CPA) is an advantage.
- Relevant experience in an accounting or finance role, preferably within manufacturing or FMCG sectors.
- Ability to work on-site in Addis Ababa and manage responsibilities in a dynamic, international environment.
